What is the Stop & Regrow™ solution exactly?

Stop and Regrow is the precision medicine solution that stops hair loss and regrows your own healthy head of hair. Developed by Dr. Nettles initially to prevent his own hair loss, the solution will be personalized to your own genetic makeup and biochemistry. At your initial consultation, Dr. Nettles will examine your hair and scalp using his digital microscope and order blood tests to determine your biological hair loss pattern. He will then create your personalized Stop and Regrow solution which will work to both stop your hair loss and regrow your own healthy, full head of hair. 


Depending on your personal situation your solution could include a topical solution for your scalp and/or an oral pill or supplement. The amount and strength of each ingredient is tailored and compounded to your individual body chemistry. You can find more details on our " How It Works " page.


Does Stop and Regrow involve surgery?

Stop and Regrow does not involve surgery. Depending on your personal situation it may involve a topical foam or serum and depending on the severity of your case when you start, an oral pill as well. 

Why haven't I heard of this before?

Dr. Nettles has spent the last few years quietly treating patients and perfecting the Stop and Regrow solution. He is now excited to present the solution to the public so everyone facing hereditary hair loss can stop it and regrow a healthy head of hair.

It is Dr Nettles goal to help as many people suffering from hair loss as possible. In support of that aim we spend very little on advertising thus enabling us to keep prices low.

Will Stop and Regrow work for women?

Yes, Stop and Regrow will work for women. As the solution is customized to your individual situation based on your genetics and biology, Dr. Nettles will personalize a solution specific to your situation whether you are male or female. You can find more information on hair loss for women here.

Will Stop and Regrow work for African American, Asian or Latino hair ?

Yes absolutely. The same hormones and chemical imbalances causes genetic hair loss in all nationalities and races. We will run tests to review your personal hormone and biochemistry levels and formulate a solution which will be most effective for you without over medication. Our personalized solution means you receive the dose which is just right for you.

Are there side effects?

Stop and Regrow program is a holistic program that treats the underlying causes of hair loss that includes enzyme abnormalities as well as nutritional deficiencies.  We find that using this holistic approach improves overall health and well-being while allowing your hair to regrow as nature intended.


Some of our patients even note marked increase in energy levels, sexual drive and lean muscle development.

Why aren't the specific ingredients listed?

Stop and Regrow uses a different approach to treating hair loss. Rather than being one size fits all, we review each person's individual biochemistry to determine your underlying cause or causes of hair loss. As each person's cause of hair loss and body chemistry is different so will their solution (and the amount and type of medicines used) be different. 


Once we have your biochemistry analysis back, Dr Nettles will create you a unique program (including your specific active ingredients compounded by our biogenetic compounding pharmacy to rebalance your body chemistry and regrow your hair.  This will be reviewed and presented to you in the second part of your assessment - your lab analysis review.  The pricing of your program will also vary based on the type and amount of medicines included. What if I don't live in the US?

Stop and Regrow uses prescription medicines within its proprietary formulas.  Most countries do not allow the shipping of prescription medicines into their country.  As such if you live internationally we recommend that you visit us in Los Angeles once a year and we can provide you with a year's supply of medicines at a time.  Other visits would be conducted with you virtually using our web meeting software.  As we know this can be not only inconvenient but expensive, we are pleased to be able to offer you a travel credit of $250 towards your medical office fees. 
  

ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT

What should I expect in the Assessment?

Your assessment will be divided into 2 parts. At your initial appointment we will review your hair and health history and analyze your hair and scalp with our specialized digital microscope.
  1. At your first visit. both full size and microscopic photographs will be taken so you can see your progress at each visit.

  2. We will order the tests we need to determine your nutritional intake, biochemistry, genetic hair loss profile and hormone levels. These tests will enable us to determine the precise personalized solution which will ensure you experience optimal hair regrowth results. 

  3. At your second visit we will run you through the active ingredients, their formulation in your personalized solution and explain how each will work to both stop your hair loss and regrow your own hair.

  4. We will show you how easy it is to use the foam (or serum) and apply it to your scalp each night on a daily basis. It literally takes less than 10 seconds to apply.

  5. We will auto-ship your solution to your preferred location every 3 months. These will usually arrive within 7-10 days. Each person's prescription is compounded and made fresh just for them.

  6.  As soon as your medicines arrive you can get started on the program at home, just 10 seconds each night before bed and you will be on your way to hair regrowth.

What If I Live Far Away?


If you live too far to travel to our Beverly Hills clinic, we can provide your initial consultation via video conference and ship your treatment to you at home or work. Please call our appointment line at (310) 601-4778 and let them know you will need a virtual consultation rather than an in-person appointment.

Do I Need To Prepare For The Assessment Appointment?


An important part of the assessment is reviewing your scalp and hair follicles under our digital microscope.  To best allow us to do this please review the following recommendations:
  • Come to your appointment without styling products in your hair if possible - so we can see its natural condition.
  • If you regularly shave your scalp, please do not shave for at least 2-3 days prior to your appointment so that we can see some hair, its growth and condition.
  • If you use toppik or any other hair fiber type product, please do not use it for a few days prior to your consultation and ensure that all residue is thoroughly washed out of your hair and from your scalp. We recommend washing at least 3 times.  Those pesky fibers really do a great job of staying put.

How Does A Virtual Assessment Work?

A virtual assessment is one that we will run with you via web conference.  That way we can see you and you can see and hear your hair regrowth consultant and Dr Nettles during the consultation using camera's on both sides.

To start the conference we will send you a link to our web conferencing system that you can click on and it will open the conference for you.  If you are on a mobile device you will need to download the conference app to participate.  

The experience will work best for you on a desktop computer or laptop that has a web camera, however it will also work on a tablet or smartphone.  We will be sharing a lot of information with you so a bigger screen will be easier for you to see.

Prior to your appointment we will send you some paperwork to complete plus instructions for taking the pictures of your hair that the Dr will review with you.  These pictures are important as they will provide us with your baseline that we can review your hair regrowth progress against if you decide to start the program with us.  It is best if you can have a friend help you take them using the back camera on your phone for higher resolution and to get the right angles.  Please make sure to have both your pictures and completed forms back to us by noon the day BEFORE your appointment, 

Why Do I Need to Pay for My Assessment?

During your assessment, held over 2 appointments, you will meet with a dedicated hair regrowth consultant and Dr Nettles himself.  You will be provided with a large amount of education and knowledge about hair loss, biochemistry, genetics and the lifestyle factors that contribute to thinning hair and hair fall.  

Dr Nettles will perform a digital microscopy of your scalp (on a big screen so you can see it too).  He will analyze your lab test results and put together an individualized program which may include personalized medicines, diet and nutrition recommendations and other holistic factors including stress management guidance, etc - to regrow your hair.  

While we used to allow payment at the time of your appointment, we regret that due to the number of no-shows we are no longer able to offer this option as it was unfair to those who did show up and who were unable to get in for an appointment to see us within a reasonable period of time.  

Our assessment fee of $249 is at the lower end of most medical specialist rates and does cover both appointments.


COST AND FINANCING

How Much Does It Cost?

The fee for your initial assessment is $249 (less than recommended specialist rates) which covers both of the 2 appointments you need. There may be an additional charge for the Biochemical Report Card labs we need for your nutritional, genetic and biochemistry analysis of at most $445 depending on your insurance plan coverage for these (see below). Many insurance plans will cover labs without any co-pay.


The Stop and Regrow program itself is a small monthly charge which for most people will average between $220 to $270 per month if you are looking to regrow hair. Prices start from as low as $115 per month if your goal is to stop or maintain the hair you currently have. 


The cost will vary based on your personal biochemistry and the severity of your hair loss when you start the program. Depending on your financial situation you may prefer to pay for a year’s supply upfront (at a discounted rate) or as you go in installments. Some patients may also be eligible for insurance rebates and/or tax deductions.



Are There Payment Plans?

Yes, we are happy to work with you to find a payment option that works with your budget.

Will Insurance Cover The Cost?

Hair loss is still considered by insurance companies to be a cosmetic issue.  As such the cost of your hair loss assessment and your treatment with Stop and Regrow will not be covered by regular health insurance.  

The Biochemical Report Card labs we need for diagnosis of your underlying chemistry and to determine the precision medicines and dosing needed for your personalized program are however covered by most insurance plans which cover a general wellness labs panel once per year.  You will need to confirm coverage with your insurance company directly.

Some of our patients also maintain HSA accounts that may cover the cost of treatment.  Coverage by HSA savings will depend on the rules of the individual HSA concerned.  As we are a medical office we are able to provide you with an invoice showing medical expenses for this purpose.

How Much Do The lab Tests Cost?

The full cost of the 9 panel lab tests we need when they are billed to your insurance company is generally around $1,800.   If you have full coverage PPO insurance your labs should be covered.  However, if you have not met your deductible or you have a copay requirement they may not be fully covered.  Also HMO insurers require lab orders to be written by your PCP who often are not willing to order all the tests we need.

Due to the volume of labs that we send, we have been able to negotiate a discounted rate for labs billed directly to us of $445. At part one of your consultation we will work with you to find the most cost effect way to order your labs for you.
